Climate Change
Forests are highly sensitive to climate change and up to one third of currently forested areas could be affected by climate change in some way, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change—a group of more than 2,500 of the world's leading scientists.

Global warming poses myriad threats to the survival of rainforests. Warmer temperatures and changing rainfall patterns may create the conditions for increased forest fires. In addition, as global temperatures rise, tree species may not be able to shift their range fast enough to survive. [more]
