What You Can Do

Vegetarian: A person whose diet is plant-based and who eats no meat, including fish (sometimes called a lacto-ovo vegetarian).

Vegan: A person who does not eat or use any products derived from animals (sometimes called strict or total vegetarian).

What we choose to eat affects our environment and the overall health of the planet. Meat-based diets contribute disproportionately to global and local environmental problems including climate change, rainforest destruction, and other habitat loss, species extinction, soil erosion, air and water pollution, and desertification.
