Just one jurisdiction in Canada -- British Columbia -- holds fully a quarter of the world's remaining tracts of temperate rainforest. It is a mist-shrouded land of rugged fjords, storm-battered islands and magnificent valleys lined with cathedral forests of cedar, hemlock, spruces and firs.

These coastal forests are the traditional territories of First Nations peoples who have lived for millennia amongst the towering trees and rich salmon runs. [more]
