Bangladesh's forests cover more than three million acres and are home to more than five thousand species of plants. About four hundred endangered Royal Bengal tigers live in Bangladesh's mangrove or 'monsoon' forests, the world's largest single population of this species. Bangladesh also contains tropical moist evergreen and semi-evergreen hill forests, which comprise roughly 45 percent of the country's total forest. [more]
