The Central African rainforest is the second largest expanse of rainforest in the world, after the better known Amazon rainforest. Landlocked within this rainforest is the Central African Republic. The Central African Republic has already lost 96 percent of its large stable forests, but due to the country’s remote location timber extraction has been more difficult than in other parts of the world.
